Looking for a Veterans Day Parade?

Veterans Day in Tucson

Are you looking for a parade to attend on Veteran’s Day in 2023? Tucson loves to celebrate and come out for creativity and community as much as possible, Veterans Day included! On the same day of the parade in 2022 there was even a music festival going on one street over.

Parking was easy because it was free on a holiday. I parked by St. Augustine’s Cathedral because my reason for being downtown that day was actually to shoot the architecture downtown with another photographer. We were so excited to learn there was a parade nearby! What luck!

The parade drew a nice crowd on a slightly chilly sunny Arizona morning and was very well organized. It certainly made me smile seeing all the smiles and participants coming out and keeping alive memories of history and honoring friends and family members in peace and unity, something we don’t always see anymore. Tucson’s got it and plenty of sunshine, too, so you will still need your sunscreen, but also might want to bring along a blanket and coffee if you are watching in the shade.

I would suggest parking about 30 mins prior to the parade. That’s plenty of time to park, walk, and find your viewing spot. The road closures were Granada Ave from Franklin Street to Congress Street and Westbound Congress Street from Stone Avenue to Granada Ave. Check the official parade website for annual Tucson Veterans Day routes. https://downtowntucson.org/events/calendar
